The web is where all of my work comes together

I started exploring computers at about eight years old through the Windows 95 command prompt. Curiosity quickly pulled me toward the creative side of technology. In high school, video club gave me an early place to experiment with images, motion, and storytelling.

I graduated at sixteen and began studying computer science at the University of Texas Pan American. At the same time, I was learning design and building websites in the real world. My first professional web work used HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, PHP, MySQL, and the rest of the LAMP stack. My programming education has remained largely self-directed through real projects, constant experimentation, and the need to solve whatever problem was in front of me.

Graphic design came before software became my career. Early PHP and full-stack work taught me how complete systems fit together, but the backend-heavy work did not hold my attention in the same way as visual and interactive problems.

I moved to San Antonio and pursued a BFA in Video Production at the Art Institute of San Antonio. Filmmaking was outside my comfort zone, which was exactly why I chose it. I learned to plan, direct, edit, light, animate, and finish work with other people depending on the result. After graduating, I freelanced and helped create commercials in San Antonio. That work will become part of the video collection as its original sources are mapped and restored.

I never stopped working with technology. Customer support, desktop support, lab work, and field service taught me how people experience broken systems, how to troubleshoot under pressure, and how important clear communication is when the person using a product does not think like the person who built it.

Reactive frameworks brought me back to software with a different perspective. The browser had become a place where engineering, visual design, motion, data, sound, 3D, and interaction could belong to the same experience. I returned to professional web development in 2020. Within four years, I had become a Lead Front End Engineer at Futurex, owning complete products and features while helping other engineers do their best work.

Vue is where I am strongest. I have been fortunate to build a career centered on Vue and Nuxt, from reusable interfaces to whole products. I also enjoy React and understand its ecosystem, but Vue remains the framework in which I think most naturally.

I am a full-stack developer when a product needs me to be, with a strong preference for TypeScript and Node on the server and Python where it is the right tool. What keeps me engaged is the frontend: the point where architecture, accessibility, performance, design systems, and human behavior become one working thing.

Games are the work I would most love to make full time. They combine systems, art, story, sound, motion, and play in a way no other medium does. That same instinct is present in my 3D work, films, music, and product interfaces. I like building experiences that invite a person to participate instead of simply observe.

Frontend engineering is my professional home because I never run out of ways to grow inside it. It gives every part of my background a practical purpose. This portfolio is not a collection of unrelated careers. It is the record of one curiosity expressed through every medium I could learn.
